My Pinterest Project

Pinterest.com...ever heard of it?

Ever tried it?

Ever loved it?

Ever become completely addicted to it and spent several endless hours on it?

Guilty!

If I could describe Pinterest in one word, it would be AMAZING. Simply amazing.

Pinterest lets you organize and share anything and everything that you find on the web. Anything from recipes and remodels to parties and projects. Activites. Gifts. Ideas. Crafts. Tips. Everything. Name it and someone has tried it.

Once you find these loves, you "pin" them. You pin them on a virtual pinboard, as if you are bookmarking them...but better. You can label your pinboards: categories, subcategories, sub-subcategories. The fun never stops!

My favorite part is that you can browse "pinboards" created by other people; no friend invite necessary! Browsing pinboards is a fun (and exciting, for me at least) to discover new things and get plenty of inspiration from people whom you have never met, who share your interests. You see what they want to try and it ultimately makes you want to try it first!

I read this quote recently and it made me think. "Pinterest makes you feel empowered, yet incompetent; inspired, yet overwhelmed; and just plain hungry at the same time." I don't know about you, but I don't want to be incompetent and overwhelmed anymore. I want to stay empowered and inspired!

I have seen a handful of my friends try an idea or project already; me however, I have not. I am more of a dreamer than a doer these days. I might pin ten or twenty "pins" a day, while finding myself feeling incompetent and overwhelmed, as always.

Enter "Pinterest Project". A project of projects. One a week. For a year. Choosing the order of the projects will be the hard part. Staying empowered and inspired will be easy. I want to start slow, hanging my Christmas wrapping paper across my closet's ceiling with a piece of string...and by Spring, I will have a chalkboard magnetic message board made from a cookie sheet hanging on my wall!

Intrigued? I know just where you can find these projects...

  1. welcome back to the blogging world, sistor! I am so impressed with your "pinterest project." Can't wait to follow along. Maybe I'll challenge myself to do something similar. :)
